About Mollie
Welcome, welcome! My name is Mollie Murk, and I'm an actor and teaching artist based in Louisville, KY. During the early stages of the pandemic, I laid down roots in Louisville, and relished in the cozy and thriving theatre & dance community here. I currently serve as Artistic Associate at Kentucky Shakespeare, working on booking for education programming, community engagement, DEIA efforts, assistant directing, and acting in several productions. I also have spent the last couple years acting with Derby Dinner Playhouse, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Pandora Productions, Louisville Fringe Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, and dancing (when there's time!) with Ambo Dance Theatre.

Mollie Murk in a nutshell:
I grew up in a collection of Chicago suburbs. In an attempt to keep me busy as a child while caring for my three younger siblings, my mom gave me a colorful cotton bag full of crayons, markers, colored pencils, books, sketchbook paper, and journals each day when my baby siblings were taking their naps. Momma called it the "napping bag." It was not uncommon for me to stay in my room for hours, content with all of the materials I needed to create and explore new, undiscovered worlds.
Nowadays, things aren't much different. I love working with people to create and tell stories. Whether it be through movement, dance, devised theatre, classical repertoire, audio, or video media, I relish every opportunity to learn more about myself and others through the performing arts. I'm especially passionate about ensuring folks have access to the arts, and see themselves represented in both classical and contemporary storytelling.
